Former foreign minister Gohar Ayub Khan passes away

Islamabad: Former Foreign Minister and Speaker of the National Assembly Gohar Ayub Khan passed away on Friday.

His funeral prayers will be held on Saturday (total) at 3:00 pm in Rihanna village in Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Taking X, formerly known as Twitter، Omar Ayub Khan, secretary general of the Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI), confirmed that his father had died peacefully after a brief illness.

His funeral prayers will be offered on Saturday (tomorrow) at 3:00 pm in Rihanna, Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa . He added that “Qul will be presented on November 19 at 11 a.m. at Omar Ayub Khan’s residence in Main GT Road Haripur.

PTI spokesman Rauf Hussain said the former foreign minister, born in 1937, had long been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Islamabad.

Gohar Ayub Khan was the son of former Field Marshal President Ayub Khan.

He also paid tribute to the former FM for his services to the nation and the country.

Expressing deep sorrow and grief over the death of the former Foreign Minister, President Dr. Arif Alvi offered his heartfelt condolences to the family.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the soul of the deceased with eternal peace and to give the bereaved family the courage to bear this loss with patience.

The President also paid tribute to the late services to the country in the field of politics.

caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has also expressed deep sorrow and grief over Gohar’s death. In his condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed patiently for the high positions of the dying soul and for the bereaved family.

He also paid tribute to the former foreign minister for his services as a politician.

Meanwhile, Muslim League N President Shahbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, NA Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, head of the Muslim League Q, and other leaders and celebrities expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic death of Gohar.
