Islamabad: National Accountability Bureau (NAB)، Rawalpindi interrogates Imran Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI), in the Adiala prison of the National Crime Agency (NCA) UK, And Al-Qadir University Trust cases, Sunday.
According to sources, four different teams questioned the former prime minister separately for nine hours. Sources added that the teams grilled him about various documents and asked him different questions.
The first team, consisting of an assistant director of NAB Rawalpindi and a member of the NAB’s joint investigation team, visited Adiala Jail and questioned Khan for about two and a half hours. Afterwards, a two-member team asked the former prime minister questions about the TAG1> 190m and the Al-Qadir University Trust.
The chairman of PTI will appear in separate cases in various courts in Islamabad on November 28 and 30.
Judge Abul Hassanat Muhammad Zulqarnin of the Special Court of the Official Secret Act has ordered Khan to appear in court in the cipher case on November 28.
Also, his appeal against the conviction in the Tosha criminal case is scheduled for hearing on November 30. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench, which includes IHC Chief Justice Amir Farouk and Justice Tariq Mahmoud Jahangiri, will hear his appeal.
However, it is doubtful that the former prime minister will be presented for open trial in Islamabad courts on November 28 and 30, Although his prison case was declared null and void by the IHC.
The 71-year-old has been in jail since August 5 after serving a three-year sentence in the Tosha Khana case. On August 29, the IHC suspended his sentence and ordered his release. However, a trial court directed authorities to re-arrest Khan, this time in the cipher case, and begin the trial in prison.
Khan is due to appear in the special court of the Federal Judicial Complex on Tuesday (tomorrow) for the hearing of the cipher case. According to online, the police, administration and other relevant departments will hold a meeting on Monday to finalize the security plan for it.
Sources said that the Special Branch of the police and other concerned departments have started gathering confidential information to help them plan security for the former Prime Minister will get.
Police sources said that there were three ways to bring Imran Khan to FJC —, one is Peshawar Road, the other is Islamabad Expressway and the third is Murree Road.
According to sources, Peshawar Road would be the preferred option to bring Imran Khan from the jail to the Judicial Complex. In addition to key installations in and around the area, the Red Zone is likely to be partially sealed on Tuesday.
Sources said that the judicial complex is surrounded by police and paramilitary forces.
The main places and roads leading to the Judicial Complex will be sealed off. Troops are also likely to be deployed near key locations in the capital, such as Faizabad Zero Point, Srinagar Highway and the Red Zone.
