KPO attack: PSL teams in Karachi ‘safe’

Teams of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) who were in Karachi for practice or were due to travel out for their next match were ‘safe’, security and law enforcement authorities said.

One team, Islamabad United, was said to be traveling to Multan on Friday evening for their next match. They had previously played and won against Karachi Kings in the city.

The team’s players and coaching staff, according to officials, were transported to Jinnah International Airport on Friday evening in a secure manner.

On Sunday, February 19, Islamabad United will take on Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

In addition, the Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars, two other teams, were practicing at the National Bank Arena in Karachi.

They were then transported to secure locations via alternative routes under strict security.
