ASTORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan chief Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan has strongly condemned the rulers of Islamic countries for their silence over Israel’s two-year-long bombing campaign on Gaza, followed by a ground invasion. He said cowardly rulers have pushed the entire Muslim Ummah into crises by failing to stand against enemies or resolve public issues.

Addressing a ceremony organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Astore, Dr. Mushtaq Khan said that the people must rid themselves of such incompetent rulers, adding that JI is the best platform for real change. He urged the federal government to declare Gilgit-Baltistan a tax-free zone to address traders’ grievances and demanded urgent steps to accelerate the delayed construction of the Astore Valley Road, which is causing severe hardships for thousands of residents. “Those who have ruled for years are responsible for the backwardness of Astore. Traditional parties and leaderships have failed to resolve people’s problems. Real change will come only by changing the system, not faces,” he emphasized.

Dr. Mushtaq Khan announced that JI would contest elections vigorously from every constituency of Gilgit-Baltistan and secure victory with public support. He said the people of Astore should ensure the success of JI candidates so that their long-standing issues can be resolved.

He further revealed that under Jamaat-e-Islami’s “Bano Qabil” program, 5,000 youth from Astore will be trained with skills to earn a respectable livelihood.

The ceremony was also addressed by Central Vice Ameer Mushtaq Advocate, Maulana Abdul Sami, Maulana Tanveer Haideri, Naimatullah Khan, Maulana Abdul Basit, and other leaders.
