Prime Minister’s Youth Boxing League Concludes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Haripur – The Prime Minister’s Youth Boxing League in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa came to a successful close, with Peshawar Division securing first place, Mardan second, and Swat third. The championship was hosted by the University of Haripur, where young athletes from across the province showcased their talent.
The closing ceremony was held at the Boxing Arena of the University of Haripur. Chief Guest Engineer Arif Rawan graced the event, accompanied by MPA Shazia Jadoon (PML-N),Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Abid Farid, Director Administration Major Muhammad Iqbal, Director Sports Dr. Syed Zia-ul-Islam, and Coach Hasnain AminThe program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. Athletes from all participating divisions were formally introduced to the chief guest.
Adding a cultural touch, the ceremony also featured traditional sports of Haripur district including Moongli Gatka and Stone Lifting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman welcomed the guests and highlighted the academic and sports initiatives of the university.
In his address, Engineer Arif Rawan emphasized that the Prime Minister’s Youth Program and Higher Education Commissionaim to identify talented athletes from grassroots levels villages and neighborhoods and provide them with opportunities at national and international platforms. He further mentioned that initiatives such as the Digital Youth Hub ensure equal opportunities for both male and female players.
MPA Shazia Jadoon in her remarks, said the government of Pakistan is committed to bringing youth into the mainstream and nurturing their skills through concrete measures under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program.
The five-day boxing championship concluded with the following results:
Peshawar Division 5 gold medals, 75 points First PositionMardan Division 1 gold, 4 silver medals, 40 points Second Position
Swat Divisio 1 gold medal, 25 points Third Position
