Residents take up self-funded repairs; local leaders urge regularization and basic facilities

ISLAMABAD: Residents of the federal capital’s Ghouri Town Phase IV-A have long been deprived of development work due to what they describe as an unjustified restriction imposed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on all development-related activities in the area. Calling it an “injustice to a registered and vote-holding locality,” the residents expressed frustration over the lack of basic amenities such as proper roads, gas, and water supply.

Taking the matter into their own hands, local social worker and President of Shaheen Group, Muhammad Zubair Rustam Awan, along with his associates Rana Abdul Qayyum, Zahid Khan, Hanif Butt, Ashfaq Mughal, and Sheikh Muhammad Deen, have initiated self-funded development work in the area.

Recently, the group arranged concrete trucks to fill potholes and repair damaged roads, significantly reducing the risk of accidents that had become a daily occurrence.

Residents appreciated the efforts of the Shaheen Group and its leadership for taking practical steps toward community welfare.

Speaking to the media, Muhammad Zubair Rustam Awan urged the CDA, government authorities, and MNA Khurram Nawaz to regularize Ghouri Town Phase IV-A, which comprises around 3,000 households. He also demanded that residents be provided with all basic civic facilities, including gas, water, and road infrastructure, on an urgent basis.
