Chairman CDA, Bangladesh HC discuss sister city ties

Islamabad: Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Bangladesh High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan at the CDA Headquarters on Monday. The meeting was also attended by CDA Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and other senior officers. Chairman CDA welcomed the distinguished guest.

During the meeting, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa highlighted the friendly and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, emphasizing the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The High Commissioner of Bangladesh commended the beauty of Islamabad and the development initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Chairman CDA. Both leaders discussed progress on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish “Sister City” relations between Islamabad and Dhaka.

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa assured full support from the CDA in establishing sister city ties between Islamabad and Dhaka. He said that Pakistan holds its brotherly country, Bangladesh, in high esteem.

Chairman CDA also briefed the High Commissioner on ongoing development projects in Islamabad, including road infrastructure improvements, monsoon drainage systems, eco-friendly plantation, and other initiatives.

Chairman CDA noted that both countries have vast opportunities to enhance mutual cooperation, which would benefit their people.

The High Commissioner of Bangladesh reiterated his commitment to further strengthening collaboration and expressed his dedication to fostering closer ties between the two nations. He also expressed Bangladesh’s keen interest in participating in Islamabad’s tree plantation campaign.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to promote mutual cooperation and strengthen bilateral relations.
