MUZAFFARABAD: Former president and prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, parliamentary leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Legislative Assembly, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, has said that Azad Kashmir cannot afford any kind of chaos at a time when the freedom movement of Kashmir is passing through critical stages.
He emphasized that the government and people must sit together to resolve issues with unity, as collective efforts are vital for the survival and progress of the state. “Our forefathers made immense sacrifices to liberate this land. It is now our responsibility to complete their unfinished mission through joint struggle,” he said while talking to various public delegations.
Sardar Yaqoob Khan noted that more than 2,200 days have passed since the imposition of an illegal lockdown in Indian-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK), where the oppressed Kashmiris are being deprived of basic human rights. “The occupied valley has been turned into the world’s largest prison. A systematic genocide is underway, and the people of Azad Kashmir must raise their voice for their oppressed brothers,” he stressed.
He further said that the atrocities being carried out by Israeli and Indian forces in Gaza and occupied Kashmir are among the worst in history. “Our youth are being martyred, and even children, women, and the elderly are not spared. The Muslim Ummah must come together to play a decisive role in halting this oppression,” he urged.
The PPP leader added that the courageous people of Kashmir and Palestine continue to resist enemy conspiracies and stand like a wall of steel against all forms of oppression. “The day is not far when both Kashmiris and Palestinians will witness the dawn of freedom,” he remarked.
Lauding the role of Pakistan’s armed forces, Sardar Yaqoob Khan said that the nation is proud of its military which has always safeguarded the country’s frontiers with unmatched courage. “The entire Kashmiri and Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces. Their sacrifices and victories are proof that they are among the finest armies in the world,” he concluded.
