Altaf Ahmed Bhat Mourns the Loss of Freedom Leader Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat

Islamabad: Altaf Ahmed Bhat, senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Salvation Movement, has expressed profound grief over the passing away of renowned Kashmiri freedom leader Abdul Ghani Bhat, who breathed his last in Sopore after a brief illness.

In his condolence message, Altaf Ahmed Bhat said that Abdul Ghani Bhat was not just a freedom leader but also an intellectual, educator, and visionary whose entire life was devoted to the cause of Kashmir. He highlighted that Bhat’s decades of commitment, whether as an academic or as a political leader, embodied the resilience and courage of the Kashmiri people.

Altaf Ahmed Bhat further noted that Abdul Ghani Bhat’s leadership in the political sphere, including his role in guiding the freedom movement through critical phases, will be remembered as a beacon for generations to come. “He believed in dialogue, principle, and dignity when it came to the struggle of Kashmir. His absence leaves a deep void, but his words, wisdom, and sacrifices remain eternal,” Altaf Ahmed Bhat remarked.

Praying for the departed soul, Altaf Ahmed Bhat said that the entire Kashmiri nation shares the grief of the bereaved family. “May Allah grant Abdul Ghani Bhat the highest place in Jannah and give patience to all those who admired and followed his path of courage and conviction.”
