High Commission of Nigeria and International Grammar School (IGS) Islamabad Celebrate Nigeria’s National Day
Islamabad : The High Commission of Nigeria in collaboration with the International Grammar School (IGS), Islamabad, commemorated the National Day of Nigeria with a colorful ceremony at the school premises.
Mr. Muhtari B.B from the High Commission of Nigeria graced the occasion as Chief Guest, accompanied by officials of the Mission and a large number of members of the Nigerian community residing in Islamabad.
In his remarks, Mr. Muhtari B.B extended heartfelt congratulations to the audience on Nigeria’s National Day and expressed appreciation to the administration of IGS for successfully hosting the celebration. He also underscored the warm and friendly relations between Pakistan and Nigeria.
The event began with the national anthems of Pakistan and Nigeria, performed by students, followed by a commemorative cake-cutting ceremony led by the Mrs. Aishatu Yushau Mohammed, Spouse of the Charge d’Affaires of the High Commission of Nigeria along with the Principal of IGS Mrs.B.A.Kureshi. Mrs. Kureshi, appreciated the teachers’ efforts in preparing the students, praised their performances, and thanked the Nigerian High Commission for its close support.
Students from both Pakistan and Nigeria showcased vibrant cultural dance performances representing the traditions of the two countries, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
At the end of the event, traditional Nigerian cuisine was also served to the guests. The ceremony served not only as a celebration of Nigeria’s independence but also as a reflection of the deepening bonds of friendship and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Nigeria.
