Muzaffarabad: In a significant development for higher education in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, President AJK and Chancellor of the Universities, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has approved the appointment of Prof. Dr. Aneela Kamal as the Vice Chancellor of the Women University of AJK Bagh.
The process of selection for the post was carried out on the basis of merit and transparency. The Senate of the Women University, Bagh had earlier submitted its recommended merit list comprising the top three candidates for the position. The names included Prof. Dr. Aneela Kamal, Prof. Dr. Ayesha Sohail, and Prof. Dr. Shahid Ahmad Khan. To ensure a fair evaluation, President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry personally conducted the interviews of all three shortlisted candidates.
After a detailed interaction and assessment of their academic credentials, leadership abilities, and vision for the university, the President endorsed the decision in line with the order of merit. Prof. Dr. Aneela Kamal, who was ranked first on the list, was given final approval for the post of Vice Chancellor.
Prof. Dr. Aneela Kamal brings with her a distinguished academic career and proven experience in research and educational leadership.
