Yasin Malik stands as a symbol of courage, resistance, and wisdom in the national freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir. At every stage of his journey, he demonstrated unmatched bravery, vision, and political acumen that reshaped the course of history.
When Yasin Malik initiated the armed struggle, his courage and strategic brilliance forced the Indian army into retreat and confusion. Later, when he chose the path of peaceful resistance, he carried the message of freedom from street to street, village to village, and town to town—spreading awareness through peace marches and freedom caravans, setting an exemplary model for others to follow.
Through seminars, conferences, dialogues, and training workshops, Yasin Malik conveyed the message of peace, freedom, and revolution—not only to his own people but also to the occupying powers.
For the complete independence of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, he met and held talks with the rulers of India and Pakistan, religious hardliners, and heads of intelligence agencies—trying to convince them to seek a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue.
Yasin Malik also visited the United Kingdom, the United States, Saudi Arabia, India, and Pakistan, where he presented the case of his nation before political leaders, opposition figures, diplomats, journalists, and representatives of human rights organizations.
Today, this same Yasin Malik is imprisoned in India’s notorious Tihar Jail in New Delhi, serving a life sentence for the “crime” of advocating national freedom. Due to his deteriorating health, he is being kept in the jail hospital, where there is no proper medical care for his heart condition—posing a serious threat to his life.
Meanwhile, the fascist Modi government is plotting to execute him to revive its declining political image and appease extremist forces within India.
In his sworn statement before the court, Yasin Malik revealed how, over the years, he held meetings with five Indian prime ministers, religious leaders, and heads of intelligence agencies to convince them to resolve the Kashmir issue peacefully and to seek a path toward lasting peace in South Asia.
He was never a terrorist. However, after 2019, his organization—the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF)—was banned, and he was falsely labeled as one.
This affidavit has not only exposed the hypocrisy of the Indian rulers but also laid bare the double standards of the so-called champions of human rights and global diplomacy.
Yasin Malik’s case today is not only a test for India’s judiciary and government, but also for international human rights organizations and the United Nations.
We appeal to the United Nations, international human rights organizations, and the global community to play their role in saving the life of Yasin Malik—the true representative of the national freedom of Jammu and Kashmir and a messenger of peace in South Asia—and to ensure that he receives justice.
