PM Kakar says Israel following path of pharaohs

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar on Thursday strongly condemned Israel’s war on Gaza, particularly the extermination of Palestinian children, likening it to the “pharaohs” who killed children at the birth of Moses.

Demanding an immediate stop to Israel’s aggression, the Prime Minister said that unfortunately those who claim to be followers of Moses are following the path of Pharaohs.

Prime Minister Kakar’s condemnation came during the 16th Economic Cooperation Organization summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where he was addressing participants from member countries.

He called on all ECO member states to immediately stand behind the Palestinians, end the violence and encourage humanitarian corridors to help the “unfortunate” and “defenseless” people of Palestine. Encourage.

Condemning Israel’s atrocities against the residents of Gaza, Prime Minister Kakar said: “The continuous and deadly bombardment of Gaza by the Israeli forces is a deplorable act, which requires international condemnation. Needs to be resolved in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) resolutions

The prime minister called on all ECO member states to insist on a ceasefire in Gaza, support calls for humanitarian aid and rally efforts to hold Israel accountable.

He also spoke about the plight of Kashmiris living in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The Prime Minister said that the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the resolutions of the United Nations.

Prime Minister Kakar recognized the regional role of Afghanistan.
He said that Pakistan wants to work together with the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for the common goal of building a peaceful, prosperous and interconnected Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Kakar recognized the important role of Afghanistan in regional relations.

“The connectivity projects CASA-1000, Trans-Afghan Railway, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India Pipeline (TAPI) and others are not just economic projects, they are also strategic investments in our common future,” he said.

Therefore, the Prime Minister added, Pakistan looks forward to working with other ECO countries for a peaceful, prosperous and interconnected Afghanistan.

Highlighting a major development in Pakistan’s investment landscape, the Prime Minister said: “Government has set up a special Investment Facilitation Council for multi-domain cooperation in five key sectors including agriculture, defense production, information technology will act as a single window platform for. Energy and Mining.”

He said that all state institutions involved in trade and investment have been brought together under the SIFC umbrella.

“This body has the mandate to issue directives to any government agencies and ensure policy continuity and implementation,” Kakar said while addressing the summit participants.

He emphasized that Pakistan has vast investment opportunities in various sectors.

The Prime Minister said that the ECO region is blessed with natural resources, geographical compatibility, entrepreneurs and cultural heritage which is secured as a basis for enhancing trade and economic integration in the region.

“Yet, despite our enormous potential and unlimited resources, our share in world trade is only 2% and intra-regional trade at 8%,” he said.

He said that the development of the region is possible only through trade activities in the region and the trade corridor between the ECO countries will play an important role.

He said that there is a need for more border and trade corridors in the ECO region.
