ECP rejects PTI’s claim of appointing retired officers as DROs, ROs

Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI)’s claim that watchdog retired officers are District Returning Officers (DR) Oz) and the Returning Officers (RO) were deployed on Tuesday, The News reported that the February 8 election was baseless and against the facts.

The ECP Media Coordination and Outreach Wing maintained in a statement issued Monday that the Watchdog had not yet made such a decision.

He explained that the ECP had written letters to the Provincial Election Commissioners to share the lists of DROs and ROs so that the updated lists could be finalized To be shaped. This is an ongoing process in which the ECP considers the appointment of DROs and ROs very important to ensure free, fair and impartial general elections.

“It is being viewed from different angles so that the general election is fair and transparent. The Election Commission is well aware of all its constitutional responsibilities.

The ECP issued a statement when PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub accused X in a post that retired officers were involved in pre-pool fraud Being deployed as DROs and ROs.

Separately, the PTI’s core committee warned that people would resist if their election mandate was stolen.

In its meeting, the Basic Committee emphasized that the ECP, in consultation with President Dr. Arif Alvi and under the supervision of the Supreme Court, February 8 is the date of the general election.

The party said that fair elections are the basic requirements for the supremacy of the constitution, the rule of law, the restoration and stability of democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.
