London: Syed Zulfi Bukhari, a close associate of Imran Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI), has said that making Usman Bazdar the Chief Minister of Punjab is a big one for the party and the former The Prime Minister soon realized the mistake but had limited powers to replace him.

Bukhari was talking on the topic of “ Democracy in Crisis ” organized by SOAS Pakistan Discussion Forum at SOAS University of London. He spoke openly for more than two hours about the mistakes made by the PTI in almost four years in government and raised critical questions from the students.

He claimed that when Imran Khan reflected his time in power, he realized that Usman Bazdar was not the right choice as the Chief Minister of Punjab but Politically matters became complicated because there were many party groups in Punjab who wanted to replace Bazdar.

“ There were Alim Khan Group and other power groups. There would have been a war within the PTI if Bazdar had been removed and Imran Khan had done the right thing to avoid an inside war by sticking to it,” Bukhari who now lives in London and is campaigning for Imran Khan’s case on the international media.

He said: “I do not think he was a good Chief Minister and was able to perform and deliver. As long as the calls against Bazdar grew after two years, it was too late and changing it a year or two later the post became a revolving door. No one will say that Usman Bazdar was a good decision but we supported his decisions. ”

Bukhari also kept himself and PTI away from Farah Gogi who is a best friend and trustworthy of former First Lady Bashari Bibi. He added that if the latest revelations about Gogi’s alleged corruption were correct, not just a media trial، So it must be dealt with strictly by law.

When asked why Imran Khan defended him in the media, Bukhari said that Khan did not know Gogi’s business and that was for him They did not investigate them.

The prime minister’s former aide also condemned the May 9 attacks on military installations.

“ We have condemned all forms of violence, especially the attack on Jinnah House which has a sacred value. We have always stood up against violence. Ordinary people say things in emotion. It is the job of the leadership to positively engage their sentiments towards the democratic process to bring about a real change. “We are the biggest stakeholders because we are the largest political party and we will suffer more than others in any such scenario,” Bakhari said.

However, The PTI leader said he made many mistakes in four years that he ruled over and if given another chance he would not make those mistakes Will repeat because a different kind of leadership will be around, and not the choice of those who chose to leave the party in difficult times.

Answering a question, Bukhari said that two people closest to Imran Khan during the PTI government were behind in a false trial against him.

“ The Ring Road case against me was prepared by two people who were close to Imran Khan at that time: One of them (Azam Khan) has now become the sanctioner against Khan and the other (Princess Akbar) has left Pakistan. The goal was to campaign against me. I resigned from my post and did not return to government after that. ”

Bukhari said that PTI is ready to talk to all political parties to move forward, including the Muslim League and the People’s Party۔ But, he said, The Muslim League was not interested because it saw the PTI as a rival in the Punjab and the PPP in the Punjab had no such problem.

“ We want them to sit with us and talk about elections and democracy, ” said PTI leader.

Bukhari said it was his deliberate decision not to participate in PTI UK’s political activities because of the results of his participation of returning workers and Leaders can fall.

He said that initially things were fine between the PTI and the army but later problems started.

He said: “ As far as General Bajwa is concerned, he could have suggested things to the Prime Minister and not ordered

Imran Khan’s former special assistant claimed that more than 13,000 workers had been arrested and put in harsh conditions after May 9 Has been released and about 7000 are in jail.
