Punjab govt plans artificial rain in Lahore to curb smog

Amid the situation of Smog’s words in Lahore, the Punjab government has launched an artistic rain project in the provincial capital later this month، The News reported on Friday.

In this regard, a meeting was held with the Provincial Minister of Environment Bilal Afzal and the Minister of Education, Mansoor Qadir, in which the brief assessment was divided, Medium and long term measures to control smog in the city.

Consultations were also held on artistic rain to end the smog and it was decided to make preparations subject to Article Rain on November 28 or 29, When cloudy weather is likely.

The provincial minister said that a team and working group should be formed to provide article rain which would be consulted on providing aircraft for artistic rain.

Bilal Afzal said that clouds are necessary and the working group has to consider all the details of the article. He said that the final proposals of the working group would be sent to the Chief Minister for approval.

Disruptions in Punjab, including Lahore Zhang, Hafizabad, Khaniwal, Nankana, Bahawlinger and Sheikhupura, are experimentally the word air pollution.

Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court has ordered authorities to close all schools and colleges in Smog-affected districts on November 18. The court also instructed the government to implement a policy of working from home two days a week.
